Retrac 2 - tracking software for Windows.

Links: Download User Guide  FAQ  Revision history

Retrac screenshot.   Tracking window.

Features:

This is new code, if you get a repeatable crash or error then please tell me so I can fix it. If you have uncompressed PC TIFF images that don't load then please send them to me as an email attachment so I can improve my TIFF reader.

Any other suggestions are also welcome, those that will be useful to many users will be most likely to be implemented.

System requirements: To run Retrac you need a PC running Windows 95 (or later) with a MMX capable processor and DirectX 7.0 or later.

Download Retrac (2.10.05) Extract "retrac.exe", "njc-ip.dll" and "licence.txt" from the zip file to a new folder. Once you have read the licence.txt, click on retrac.exe to run it. If you get a message asking for mscomctl.ocx, click the preceding link and extract it to the same folder as retrac.exe.

SampleFrames.zip (800kb) A sample sequence of images and a tracking data file. Shows microtubules gliding over Neurospora kinesin viewed by video enhanced DIC.

Mini-FAQ

How do I uninstall Retrac?
If you installed before 2005, go to the "Control panel", choose "Add/Remove programs", select "Retrac" from the list.
Installations after 2005, just delete the files called "retrac.exe", "licence.txt" and "njc-ip.dll".
User settings such as user-defined kernels, calibrations and the location image files are not deleted when you do this. This is done in order to maintain settings when you update Retrac. To remove or view this information, use a registry editor such as Regedit and search for "Retrac" (in a section called "VB and VBA Program Settings").

Why did you call it Retrac?
It's my name backwards.....
